Salinas Pueblo Mission NM
On Oct 20, before we leave Socorro, we find the NM Mineral Museum. https://geoinfo.nmt.edu/museum/
They were super cautious about letting us in even though there was no one else there. Great place if you're interested in rocks and geology.
26 miles N of Socorro we see an off ramp to Salinas Pueblo Missions NM.

There are 3 separate sites. We stopped at Abo and Quarai. While the indigenous people that built these pueblos were not slaves to the Spaniards, they were a forced labor pool. It was interesting that there was serious conflict between the religious and civil authorities that ruled these pueblos over how the native americans were to be controlled.
