Marfa, TX

Marfa, TX is a city of ~2000 in the barren high desert of west TX. It has become an art center ever since 1971 when a NY artist came there bought up buildings and a former Air Force base for his major sized installations. Unfortunately, they were all closed due to Covid. The arts nature of the city has continued till the present. There is a beautiful old hotel there, "The Paisano " and the court house is also remarkable.

We did get to see the "hotel" El Cosmico" which is a bunch of old travel trailers that have been artfully decorated on the outside (couldn't see insides) and yurts and other tents.
